FIRE SPRINKLER DESIGNER

The Fire Sprinkler Designer will be responsible for preparing code compliant fire sprinkler design drawings using AutoCAD with HydraCAD overlay. Hydraulically calculate fire sprinkler systems. Prepare project submittals for Owner and Architect review. Prepare stock list and material acquisitions. Perform field surveys for drawing accuracy. Attend coordination and progress meetings. Review work of other design team members for accuracy and code compliance. Perform other job related duties as required.

Desired Skills and Experience:

Strong analytical and mathematical aptitude
Experience with Microsoft Office and associated programs
Good working knowledge of hydraulic calculations, stocklisting, project design, project management

Familiarity with general construction practices and the ability to read construction documents
Excellent written, oral communication and organizational skills
Self starter and be able to operate in a team environment
Thorough working knowledge of NFPA
Must contribute to building a positive work environment
Must be able to deal with frequent changes, delays or unexpected events
Must have a valid drivers license

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum 5 years experience in Fire Protection Design
Must have experience working with AutoCad 2012 or newer
Five years experience working with construction industry contractors
Level 2 NICET or higher certification desired
